The only thing I know about rocks is I like them... help!?!?

So I am in west central Idaho found these in the mountains out of Council Idaho haven't got a clue what they are except pretty. Looks like it could be opal to me.

I'll say the stones are a difference between first Jasper, second Agate and last Chalcedony. There are grades between these minerals but all are essentially silicate however coloration, patterning and in your case translucence's will vary the grade the mineral receives. Nice stuff though.
