The old "A ring is a ring"
Ah yes, the old a ring is a ring. I went to the beach this morning and took my grandson with me. He started out very enthusiastic but it didn't take long for him to wind down. He thought he was going to start finding money and rings right off the bat. Poor kid. His first find was a bottle cap. Then another and another. He was getting tired and bored. He started carrying the detector over his shoulder. I told him he wouldn't find anything up there! By that time I was starting to get a little bored myself because all I was finding was bottle caps and pieces of wire and one small battery. Sheesh I finally told him that we would start working out way back to the car and I got a hit. It sounded like another bottle cap. Very low tone but since I wasn't finding anything to brag about I decided "what the h***" I would dig it anyway. My grandson was standing right there yelling you got something didn't you"? Well I will be darned! I did. I had a silver looking ring in the basket. It is not silver and it is just a cheap little squeezable toe ring but - A RING IS A RING! On a little further I got another one of those low bottle cap tones and dug it anyway.... this turned out to be one of those cheap little bangle bracelets. You know the kind the girls wear a dozen of? Well I did not get one coin this morning. NOT ONE! I saw another hunter down there and asked how he was doing and he said he had a small handful of coins but that was all. So I guess I wasn't the only one that was doing pretty bad today. Did I say bad? Nah, didn't I say I got a ring? It was a good morning.
I hope you have a great day too. Can't wait for tomorrow.
p.s. I forgot to mention that I found a really nice "Ralph Lauren" designer towel this morning too. The beach cleaner was coming and would have got it. But I beat it. Have you any idea how heave a wet beach towel is all rolled up and tied on to your belt? LOL
