Updated...

I'll spare you the large pile of twisted metal and lead.

Check out the last pic. We were hunting a Loyalist site that has given up a dozen Rev Pewters in the past and I eyeball this! (last pic below) I called Romeo to make the walk from about 100 feet to come check out what I found and believed to be the unveiling of my find of the week. It turned out to be one huge tease and the last high I had (well near had) during the digs.

Original Post...

I've finally caught my breath enough from saying YOU'VE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME enough to post. The guy has about 7 rabbits, 6 hats, a Spanish silver and a belt plate, did I forget anything? ::) (oh there's still 2 days to go)

Anyway, enough about the detecting God's chosen one, and here's what I managed to dig up. Didn't get many coins but this 1820 Irish token and 3 pre-1760s French (Acadian) Bale Seals. The bottom is Compagnies De Indes, an Acadian trading company.

I really need a big score in the next two days but it's a tall order trying to compete with a belt plate.

Re: The nibbles Romeo left for me

That's ok--you'll pull through. Those are still some great finds there. The buttons are top notch--and the old Irish token is better than expected in terms of condition.

I know the feeling--my buddy just six hours ago pulled a spanish silver up. Glad I was there to see it. :)

Great that you two made the banner during your marathon week. This is our final push since the fields are being planted everywhere.

Best Wishes,

Buckles

The RP button is great. The device itself is intact, and that is an important part with those old pewter buttons.

I really like the lead seals. Those are something that I have really started to appreciate lately, especially when you find a group of them from the same context.

I know how you feel about the insane luck of your friend. I detect with a guy like that. When you get to feeling bad for yourself, just think about all of the awful things they had to do to get their terrible metal detecting powers.

Thanks. I do always appreciate old finds like this and as for the luck I've been on the good side more times than not.

Re: The nibbles Romeo left for me

"Nibblets" are good. Hogge

Re: The nibbles Romeo left for me

Actually those finds are great, just don't compare with Romeo's :D The Irish is in good condition for your area and I like the Naval button, the RP was a good find and the bale seals are probably the nicest of the bunch for the day! Today, will be your day IP...........(maybe)

Re: The nibbles Romeo left for me

maybe I should make you a T-shirt. Still I would be happy enough with that as a days haul.
