The next best thing to a gold coin.

I hit a thrift store and saw this medal in the case. The medal was for the 300th anniversary of Castillo de San Marcos issued by the Franklin Mint and was obviously brass. The bezel on the other hand looked mighty good. I could see some very tiny writing on the eye ring but there was no way I could read it. I took a chance for $8 dollars and it paid off. 14kt Gold. Now to find the coin to put in it!

Looks like a nice little weight of gold there. A few times I've come across cheap pendants hanging on gold chains.
