Ok, first, I want to apologize to all my fans. I left an "end -of-year" post the other day, I promise, I honestly thought I was done for the year, but then the temps hit the 40's, my MD started to feel lonely, sorry, no excuses. Can you ever find it in your hearts to fogive me??
Now for the good part..........
Went out near a historical site today, it was a federal office of indian affairs back in it's day. The area adjacent to the building is a public park, so, I went A-zapping. The whole place was loaded with "junk" signals, and I wanted to hit as much as possible, so I was ignoring them. There were also A-LOT of "hot" rocks, I tested a few of them, they showed copper/silver, but I know some about rocks-at best, they were iron ore. After a few more minutes, I hit a........weird...signal, it sounded like a penny, but registered as a dollar. It was also VERY big. I hadn't dug anything worth dirtying my shovel yet, so I figured, what the heck(more out of curiosity than anything)and I dug it - that's right, I dug.......And made my coolest find to date.
This being an area of Indian trade, it is probably a nugget brought here for that purpose as we are about 250 miles from areas where native copper is found, so, I guess this is a relic too !!
I am absolutely buzzed by this find, I apologize for the fake "last- post", but hey, I GOT A NUGGET !!!!!
It measures 7" long, 4" across, and 2.5" thick. Weight is probably 8-10 lbs.
