It was an interesting read, and interesting story for sure, but newspaper back then had to sell papers just as they do now; questionable stories of lost treasure being a grand way to entice readership.

Is it true?

Who knows. I know if I was to drop dead right now of a heart attack, I would have the exact same story. I have spoken enough about it that my family knows we have gold on our farm, but even my wife does not know of the location I found it. I have a habit of saying, "out in the back forty", but it is kind of a misnomer; there is 7000 acres of forest out there. Good luck finding it is all I can say.

I tried to Find the Hearld's Clawson Article it Mentions.

But the search feature didn't Find it.
it says 4 or 5 years ago (as of 1906)
I searched from 1 to 10 Years Back of '06 , & Nothing on the Swim Mine come up at All.
may try again on a different day.

But the Challis Messenger was also Devoid of any Hits on "Swim Mine"
in all years availiable
