Hi all, been busy with a few different sites and weather is a bit milder. Thats still hotter an a English summer. lol Anyway went out to a old site where once a post office once stood. Not much to look at.Just an empty horse paddock.Lockwood is more like a place than a town but is where 3 main roads cross before the river.During the gold rush, stagecoachs and the Government gold shipments passed by.Not far up the road was a camp for troopers who could be called apon to put down rebellions and trouble in the near by gold feilds. Most gold feilds spreed across the surrounding 600 square miles.

Found a few buckles and half eaten spoons lol early young head penny, button and a much later English threepence[silver].The fancy buckle is a miners buckle of the style worn here in the 1850's Quite a few hours work and made 2 trips.Lots of digging. The buckles were at about a depth of 27 inches. That Ventura coil and GPX gives a clear slide without tweaking out

Nice finds - you should submit a few articles to Australian Gold Gem & Treasure. Given your usual mix of history and photos you wouldn't have to do much more than you are already (and they pay for articles unlike this cheap mob who get to read it for free ::) ;D ::) ;D )

Hello Tinny,Could you post a better picture of that wreath cleaned up???Also any other Tongue and Wreath parts you have found??Thanks

What a wonderful coin.

Thanks for replies.Buckles i have found have always been damaged and parts missing.Might find a whole buckle one day. :) :) :)
