I think that there is some older coins down in one of the yards i went to but cant get the xlt to pick up anything under 4-5" still think I'm doing something wrong....
are you using preset programs on the xlt? i have never tweaked mine and i have found a lot of stuff over the years. how new is your xlt? i hunt a lot of lots here in my town were houses have been just torn down and found a lot of silver and old Penny's.. just keep it up you will find silver. i don't know were you live but if you see a house being torn down ask to hunt thats were a lot of my finds come from :) good luck

Congrats on getting out Bryan! Read them books and keep it up! See my PM.

Hay Brian try digging the signals that don't show up on the ID.Could be on edge or even better them deep coins.Lots of time's the deeper coins well not show what it is.What happens is that we relay on that target id to much. You should fine tune your ears they are more important than the id

finds is finds.at least you got out in the great outdoors and made alittle pocket change at the same time.nice job.

the snow just melted here yesterday. the ground was really muddy in some areas. but yah it was nice to get out. cant wait to get my headphones. when i get them i will go back to the old yard and see if i can find an old coin or two. ::)

If everything on your machine is set up pretty good, and you're sure everything is normal, try changing your sweep speed a bit. Slowing down and shorter sweeps sometimes brings out those deeper coins. You don't cover as much ground, but if they are there, sometimes this is what it takes to get them to surface.

I'm having the same problem at a house I am MDing at, lots of change close to the surface, but nothing over 4 inches or so, and only 1 wheatie so far. Kinda disappointing for as old as this place is.
