During my first dig of the new year yesterday, I was able to cull a few keepers from some local schoolyards. But there were some interesting twists too!

(1) The Impressive. Well, to me at least, as I always love seeing that silver in the plug! A child's .925 marked sterling birthstone ring. 80 VDI on the ATPro.

(2) The Impostor. How dare someone stamp this little "birthstone" ring with "925" when it is merely plated!. (Rang up as a pull tab-55 on the ATPro.)

(3) The Improvement. I will take this older, plated bling ring any day over those goofy "Alumi-rings" that plague our schoolyards and parks! 58 VDI.

Here are a few more keepers from the day. A "Tiger Cub Scout" neckerchief slide, a brass earring, a bling earring, and a local park token.

Thanks for looking! Here's wishing all my TNet friends a great new year of digging and discovery. Sub 8-)

Hey I'm impressed. I also have a whole box full of impostors.

I have about three items marked .925 that are anything but silver. I even have a fake gold ring marked 14K.
We have to take the good with the bad I guess.

Hopefully there will be more good than bad in 2016! Nice digs!

Wow, you find a lot of rings. Congrats on early year silver.

Yep, an excellent start by any measure!

Boy, those scout slides sure do blast the eardrums, don't they.

WTG!

I like the rings Sub, but I actually like that Tiger Cub Scout Neckerchief Slide the best. I have not found one like that yet.

Nice Sub. Way to get the year started. Best of luck to you in 2016!

Whadi, This one blasted 80 on the VDI with a "smart" chirp in the Headphones! I always think, it is either a big, brass sprinkler head or a neckerchief slide! Sub 8-)

Thanks TH, This is the first "Tiger Cub" scout neckerchief slide that I have found. I dug about 12 neckerchief slides in 2015 of all different styles and ages! They are always a welcomed find at schoolyards and parks, where Scouts go to school in uniform or go for meetings. Sub 8-)

ahh yes. the fake stamped jewelry. i find alot of that here being a border town to mexico, but great find on the silver.

Nice rings, blings and slidey things to start your year.

Dang Sub you didn't miss a beat beat going from the 2015 season to the 2016 season. How big is your treasure chest? You may need a larger one if you keep this up. Congrats on the great day in the outdoors and digging more bling.:occasion14:
