This field has all period of finds but what I'm after is the most difficult period to find in the UK AD450-600. This is early Saxon Migration period, when hardly any metal objects were made & no coins were produced.
I got one piece of an unknown type of Mount with punched hole decoration from circa AD500 & Cru'Dad got an off-centred stud made from this early blueish metal which we know is of that period.
I did 7.5 hrs & Cru'Dad did 3.5 hrs.
Other finds;
3 Roman Coins
17th C Token
Buckles
Tudor Book Clasp
17th C Spoon top
Medieval Lead Mount
2 Medieval Leather Mounts
Piece of a Bronze Age Socketed Axe
Circa 8th C Saxon Strap-end
Circa 11th C Saxon/Viking Stirrup Mount - Class b, Type 2, Grp 1
To prove what I just stated on oldsoapy's post - 2 normal conditioned hammered Pennies of ED I (both London)
