Ordinary items like this headless horse figurine wouldn't contain information about the ship in question.
You'd have to locate the shipwreck and try to find some sort of name along the ship, or a sign of sorts.
Other than that, it'd be rather impossible to identify a ship unless you go through records of ships destroyed around that era and location.

Looks like brass plated diecast, or potmetal. Sure resembles a top of an equestrian trophy.

To me, it appears to be one of the souvenir copper horses from the 1950's onward. They were sold individually or set onto a western-style mantel clock. Just a thought. Happy Hunting, Sub 8-)
