have been unkind this season so far. With about 2% done, got more clad but so far only two ear rings, two religious medallions and two love pendants, none of which are gold. The clad has been plentiful however. Again today several multi-quarter spills.

One thing is nice, they marked off the fields with white lines and put goal nets at each end. Some dozen or so of these fields and the lines make it easy to follow search patterns!

Those yard lines are perfect for detecting. I used to hit 2 1/2 yards going one way and the the rest going back the other way, then sometimes go over it again in the opposite direction. Worked like a charm.

This year for some reason there was no sports played there except some scratch soccer / football games. Still did okay, but not like when the parents used to jam the sidelines.

Hey Scrounger,
Nothing to write home about, 6 to 12 gold rings a year, half that many silver. I'd get more silver but I don't dig many of the coin-sounding signals because of the high confidence I have that it's clad. So far this year I've found more live ammo than gold though. Half dozen 9mm rounds, one .45 and even a .22 charge from a powder-actuated nail driver. All in the playground there. Tough kids I guess.

But the nice thing is the park is CLEAN, so it's great silent ground and when you hit a target, it's easy to id and isolate. Grounds crew there is also great. One thing I'm sure not to do, disturb or dig those fields in the summer or when they are active, that's the surest way to get yourself and your hobby disallowed. Surface picken's are alright, but it's just this time of year when the digging starts.

We've had two big collegiate fast pitch softball tourneys and two soccer as well this month. Lots of folks jumping and kicking and running and sliding and oh yeah, pulling those mits/gloves on and off across the field.

Keep hittin the gold fields, the gold is out there. I dunno know about getting a lot of gold without diggin coins as my 18k ring cameup as a penny and my 14k ring cameup as a nickel, but that was on my Ace 250. I don't know about your machine though. :icon_pirat:

Yeah, I'll miss a few, but that's what you're along for! Now get better and let me know when we can hit Goodfellas again.
