So after the ''emotionally exhausting day'' of yesterday when I dug my 3 early French coins, got up early in the morning and went back to my crazy silver spot in Montreal. Went there with my large coil for the Deus (which I found was unnecessary due to the rocks and junk in the ground). First went back to the same spot with no results, spent there maybe 30 min. and decided to follow the rocky slope hoping for an ancient camp ground, nothing just some junk tourists left behind. Was ready to go home thinking well I had a great run yesterday, can't complain but decided to have a last little look at the yesterdays spot. As I was checking the grounds Deus sarted giving a very faint pull tab signal with no reading so thought it was a junk at first.Well guess what was stuck between the rocks and pretty deep I should say. My very first Mexico Mint Spanish colonial 1/2 Reale from 1744 !!! I'm absolutely amazed!!!

The results of 24 hours hunting. I got extra info about the coins since yesterday and Iron Patch will correct me if i made a mistake :-)
- 1490's Charles VIII Blanc Couronne (Crown)
- 1692 Louis XIV clipped (or cob) 15 deniers (counter struck with Fleur de Lys for use in the French colonies).
- 1716 Louis XV Double struck 1/4 Ecu
- 1744 Phillip V of Spain colonial 1/2 Reale from Mexico mint.
An absolutely amazing week end!

Hard to imagine you ever beating this weekend for silver. It's about as good as it gets with the exception of the dreams we have where we lose touch with reality a little.

No. It was probably a lost coin pouch as was in the same hole. No coppers just a tiny musket ball but it might be unrelated.
