Detector(s) used
Fisher F2
So me and my sister (me 15, my sister 12) decided to get the F2 Fisher, and it arrived today, although this morning felt like forever. But when it arrived, we put it together and went outside our house to give it a try! First, we were finding small things, (Pennies, dimes, ect) and we decided to go to a church across the street that had a huge holly tree. We then found a toy car and then something very unexpected ... This particular object show as penny/dime signal, and we started digging. Unfortunately, we did not use the hanker chief, so the object kept escaping, and we were confused...

After about 15 minutes of digging (I know, really bad) we were about to give up, thinking it must have been a weird object. As I sifted through the dirt, long and behold, I saw a ring! I picked it up and showed my sister, and she was excited as could be, put it on her finger to try it out. This was very exciting to us because our mom thought we were stupid to invest in a detector, and did not think we would find anything. We cleaned it up, and we were told it was silver! Yep, we are hooked, even though it is a cheap object, metal detecting was fun even when we were finding clad. The F2 also worked like a charm after the first 10 minutes, finding things really deep. It was also a nice brother and sister time, hard to get sometimes...!

Sorry, no pics:( Don't know how to get pictures on the computer.

Thanks for getting us into the hobby, it was very random that I even found this sight, I just so happened to be bored one day!

Welcome to treasurenet to you both!!!!! Great find on your first time out!!!!!! HH Chug and Red

Thanks all for the kind reply's! We think that since this tree is a great climbing tree which we use all the time, somebody climbing it dropped it, and could never find it. Pretty surprised to find it though!

Don't think that there is nothing else to find around the tree keep searching for more.

We sure will! There is also another old catholic church, a block away from us that is not in use, so we are going to try to get there, hoping for some silver coins!

Great finds. You will have many more to come. The F2 will do a good job for you. Happy hunting. :icon_thumright: Barry

Yeah, my fisher came with a small pin pointer, but I did not have batteries. I found some and it was really helpful, and did the job. I think it's called the Fpoint.

Happy hunting and good luck allways! I'm pretty sure your mom will soon realize that the purchase of the detector indeed was a very good investment.
