The Equinox hits an "iceberg" and follows it the next day with even more gold!

Whew, I'm exhausted. You'll see why in a minute.....

I went back to the same area from the week before that produced gold and silver (see last post) and it was no different. The cut was still there yesterday and some still remaining today (less so though) and it just kept producing! Yesterday I was there for 6 1/2 hours and pretty much gridded the whole thing. TONS of change, some silver and lots of bullets, shrapnel and other stuff. The ring this day "the iceberg" rang in initially at a 1-2 on the EQX but after getting it out it was a solid 3. My first thought was "it's fake, no way its real" this was bolstered by what looked like some of the gold on the ring flaking off so I thought plated. Nope! Just a little damages and had a few dings in it! Not only is it 14K but the 7mm, 1.25 carat diamond is REAL! That is the largest real diamond I have ever found! I was pretty damn happy as you can imagine! I was also able to recover a Walking Liberty 1/2 , a merc dime, a silver earring, small piece of silver heart bracelet, a silver "snuff" (cocaine) spoon and a 14K earring wth real ice as well!

Just when I didn't think it could get any better, I went back there today and bam! 2 more gold rings within the first 30 minutes! I couldn't believe it! The first was a nice little 14K at arounf 2.5 grams and the next was a 1979 (thought it was 1929 as it so hard to read at first) class ring that was 10K and was 7.49 grams. The hunt was finished off with a small sliver bracelet and the asme amounts of change, bullets and shrapnel. I hunted again today for another 5+ hours and I'm really paying for it now but I can take some vitamin “M” (Motrin), have a nice cocktail and take a breather...untill tomorrow! LOL Well, we'll see......my luck can't be THAT good, but just in case, I did buy some extra lottery tickets tonight!

One thing that Equinox is good at is finding deep, small targets. If you look at the pictures and see some of the small little copper “discs” from today and yesterday. Those damn things, that are smaller than sequins, are bullet primers that have fallen out of the shells. And dammit, those things ring up right in the gold range and come up between 11-14. Same with all the small copper pieces. Just FYI, this thing hits small stuff but it hits ALL the small stuff! LOL Still digging this machine though. My CTX has been collecting dust for a few months now......I think I heard it crying when I left it in the car!

Good luck all!

Awesome finds. The equinox sure loves lower conducters

That is a lot of digging! Great finds, I am enjoying the depth of the 800 as well!

Now that’s a lot of digging. That iceberg ring is a beaut. Congrats on all the great finds and good luck on the next one.

Fantastic multi-hunt finds, congratulations! :occasion14:

Wow that is a lot of digging but I'm sure you didn't mind. Lots of great coins and relics. Those rings are sweet too. Any chance the class ring had initials for a possible return?

It has initials inside but I have NO idea what school it might be from, no school name, just the "O" on the center stone.

Congrats that diamond is gorgeous. Someday id like to find one like that that i dont have to return

Absolutely a great couple of days for you! Wonderful recoveries! 🙌

You worked hard, but it looks like you got your rewards. Great work.

Keep swingin.

My back hurts just looking at all the stuff you dug up!!! That was a rewarding couple of days. You got alittle bit of everything and the gold and diamond is the icing on the cake with whipped cream and cherry on top. Congrats.

Awesome 2 day hunt Doc. Congrats!. Quick question for you if you remember, you said that the diamond ring came in as a 1-2 and then a solid 3. Do you remember what the other rings rang in as (the gold band and class ring)? Thanks!

The other 2 bands: 14K 2.5 grams: 13 10K 7.4 grams: 14

Guess it has alot to do with the size and metal content. I would think the heavier ones and the ones with more copper (10K) would ring up higher. The solitaire confused me at first. The low number compared to rings of other weights didn't match up, then I realized that most of the weight is in the diamond. There isn't that much gold that makes the ring so it would be a lower number.

The city/state owes you for trash removal ! Wow , that's a lot of digging. Sweet gold !
