The end of 2014 is nearly here and my totals wont likely change at all until the new year starts. Its been a hell of a ride this year. Got laid off on April 25th and started working for myself and I have not looked back. My pile has been growing at a rapid pace

Year - Year End Total ( goal ) +/- of goal

2011 - __46.0775 (_52 oz) -6
2012 - _278.9814 (256 oz) +23
2013 - _504.5263 (468 oz) +37
2014 - 1092.2140 (682 oz) +410

2014 my goal was to hit 682 oz by years end, as you can see, I smashed past that goal. My 20 year goal was to hit 4160 oz or 4oz a week/208 oz a year.

2015 goal was 890 oz. I am going to try to put aside at least another 624 oz or 12 oz a week. 1722 oz is my goal for 2015. If I can accomplish that, year 4 will stick me to year 8 in my 20 year goal. I could possibly get this done much sooner.

Hope to be buying my new safe this year too. Filled up mine and my moms, I am running out of room quick. I have 250 oz of sterling scrap filling 3 large flat rate boxes that I need to refine this year and start pouring my own bars.

Great job and congrats on going into business for yourself. I have heard that silver bars are somewhat of a problem when selling as they have to be drilled to confirm the silver content. I am by no means an expert on this but I have scrap sterling also and am keeping it as is. I also like the idea of investing in Vintage silver coins such as Walkers when i can get at silver price for the same reason.

They may be, until you get a rep for selling them. The three bars I currently have ( 108.2 oz Sterling or 100 +/- oz silver ) have been shot at NTR metals and I have a report on their purity. I have another I have another 250 oz not yet melted into bars but I plan on redoing most of them into 10 oz bars and 1 oz bars. Some I may stamp and resell or put out to auction but most will be for my personal collection.

Not sure if I just want to melt and pour or personally refine my silver yet.

I have 3400 grams of gold fill and about an ounce of misc scrap gold that I plan on refining and pouring my own bar from in 2015.

I plan on holding for a long, long time. I would sooner like to see it go down for the next 3 or 4 years. Business is so good that I no longer have to scrap the gold or silver I buy so I am going to be holding all I pick up from auctions from now on, unless i get another one of those days were I spent 5 grand, that is a different story. Lower prices mean I can buy more at spot and not feel it as bad. 12 ounces a week is my new goal, that is $192 a week at todays prices, still a hefty sum of money if I buy it at spot.
