Charlie and I hit the trail early this morning and within three minutes of leaving the truck, found this beauty. ;D I am not sure of the type or age.... anyone.... Molly? help  I also found what I think is a yadkin heartbreaker. This is the third one that I have found there that is broken in half like this one. The other long thing is a bone I believe.... but its very old and feels fossilized. I have no experience in that area so it may just be nothing. The last photo is one that I am certain will be a geofact to most but you can't help but notice the base. If its a point or a preform as I suspect, its broken clean in half. What do you folks think? Anyway.... it was a great morning once we found the cool white quartz point. I hope that you are all having a lucky weekend.

I would say a 'Lecroy', I thought maybe a worn down point, making it a 'Maccorkle'. I would type it a 'Lecroy'.
Nice find, I have only ever found one 'Lecroy'.
AB, you sure had a good hunt. Congrats.

Molly.

Do you find a lot of milky quartz there?

I find a TON of quartz at this site. Of course, most of it is flakes but i find white quartz, crystal quartz and i am not real sure about Milky Quartz. Im still to new at this i guess. If you would... please take a look at my post.... (the one after this one) where i show the good points that I have found this year and see if there are any milky quartz in it. If there are.... please let me know, so I will know what I am looking at when I see it. :D Thanks for the post.

Yes its early to middle archaic. Milky quartz is easy to spot, its VERY white, not clear in anyways. I have a few but mainly brokes, shows the knapping up nicely, unlike the semi white quartz.

They will be planting tobbacco in my old field next year, I have missed hunting there, they change crops every year. This is where I have good chances of finding Morrow Mts & Yadkins made of milky quartz, can't wait.

Molly.
