The dirt got over it's holdout with a winged liberty dime

Been in a bit of a silver drought while I tested out a few new research strategies. Truth be told I was getting kinda frustrated with my local parks. Hit a new (for me) park today after a heavy rain last night. Man it's a pleasure to dig in damp soil. Pulled a couple pockets full of trash and about $6 in clad in the 1st 3 hours or so. Thought I was gonna get skunked on notable finds again. At lunch I sprung for some new batteries (was at 2 bars on the AT Pro) and it made a noticeable difference. Signals were alot more lively.

One thing i'm learning is that good deep coins in parks almost never sound great..they're always iffy signals b/c all the low hanging fruit (shallow silver) has been picked. I knew I only had a half hour left, so I concentrated on only digging deep iffy signals. Last hole was this beauty, down about 8 inches:

Congrats on pulling that Merc. :occasion14: It's always nice when you pull a keeper in a hunt.

Very well done. Always nice to see a shiny in the dirt!

Essex County, NJ has been denuded of silver coins by TNet member, SCRAPPY!
