Now, I do not sell stuff I find. So "pay off" is a euphemism. First few trips out were to hunted out Civil War sites. I got several Washington Arsenal minie balls, several eagle buttons, a Civil War comb, a BOTTLE next to a big piece of melted lead, another camp ax, three ration cans, some choice nails, etc.

Then to the beach, a ladies' 18k engagement ring with diamond, value about $1000. Also elsewhere, got a mans' 14k wedding band, medium weight.

Back to the CW site for a few more bullets and buttons.

Had a club dig and got the new Colonial/Revolutionary War cross belt plate. About $500 because this site is OLD. Again a guestimate. A James 1 silver coin, four colonial copper, one is a George I, plus chump change.

Nice. What general area are you hunting. SE Virginia?

Maryland, PA and central Va.

I wannabe smokeythecat!

No, Jeff, you don't. Cat hurts like all dickens this am.

hey at 61 I hurt too, but I'm still alive

You are tearing in up. I have a Deus but need neat places to hunt like you have. lol. Wouldn't happen to be going to Central VA in late March BTW. ;)

Going to three organized digs in March and a bottle show.

Congrats it's working good for you.

You got another copper after I left, and Silver. Holy Moly Cat what a day you had, glad to have been there to witness it all. or some of it lol Had fun. Cant wait for our next.

Well, we won't have to wait long! And lunch to boot! Plate cleaned up real nice and the one copper was 1729. The gunk came off with a toothpick and oil bath.

congrats! very impressive

Sweet !! Glad to hear that the Deus is getting it done for you !!

Hello Smokeythecat,

Congratulations on the great finds and the potential to sell and pay off your machine. :notworthy:

I very very rarely sell anything, but do tend to give it away :dontknow:. Have given so much jewelry, relics and silver coins away; I cannot keep track - most to other detectorists that have never found such items. To me it's the fun of the hunt and once I find something cool or valuable it's just put away. Perhaps, I'm foolish to just give it away?

Regards,

Doc

Actually, I don't sell anything. I have given stuff away in the past, like minie balls to kids, nothing like this though.

Congrats on the DEUS working out so well for you.
I'll be in Charlotte And Culpeper Co next month for an unrelated hobby. Might have to pack for a possible hunt somewhere.
