The Detectorists

Binged watched all seven shows. :occasion14:

Never heard of it!

very short bbc series but so enjoyable. Subtle British humor. Treated the metal detectorist fairly and did not make them look goofy. Funny show. wished there were more seasons, but only two so far.

Loved this series...watched both season last year (downloaded torrent). Love subtle British humour. If you ever watched the original bbc "The Office" series, you will recognize the star of this series (or maybe you wont recognize him). He wrote it!

My wife just got me the 'detectorist' series 1 on DVD for Valentine's Day and we watched all 6 episodes the first night - even she an my 15 year old son are hooked now. She originally picked up the DVD at Costco and we just had to go back and purchase series 2 the next day. I sure hope there will be a series 3! Here is the latest speculative news that I could find on it: Detectorists series 3: Toby Jones reveals Mackenzie Crook is working on BBC4 comedy.

Best show on TV.
Daily Motion has both seasons + xmas special for streaming or downloading.

Finally watched this show and loved it..:laughing7:

Coming originally from England, both myself and the wife we had the same adventures, digging in fields with our 8 month old in the stroller, did the research on the history, only to find an alarm clock, and toy cars ect.lol.

When I search Netflix for The Detectorists it can't find the show.

Same, might have been a show that got removed?

It's still on there, just search for Detectorists ,leave off "The"

I don't watch much television but that is good.

Great program, love this type of subtle humour.

The part that I enjoy the most about British television is that they use everyday looking people, and not unrealistically beautiful people in every roll of just about every character.

Not there under Detectorists either. They're on utube but the video is miniaturized so you can't hardly see it.

DailyMotion, guys. Free. d/l or stream. No need to know anything else.

Not that it matters, but the correct grammer for the series is 'detectorists', with the lower case d.
---sincerely, the grammernazi
