A buddy of mine bought a place a few years back and pulled a few a couple of keepers from the walls when he was renovating. He passed 'em on to me recently, knowing my interest in these sort of things. What I was wondering was what date you guys might put this at? Take a look at the pics and let me know :) The place was built in 1885. I've got another tin and a small whiskey bottle ( both of 'em with labels ), but this one is the real beauty.

Your last link from the 1860's states a shop at Russell st, Threadneedle st, and piccadilly. The tin states Threadneedle st, piccadilly and Holland st, Blackfriars. Makes the tin a lot older in my opinion. 1900 to WW2 era. Maybe taken back to Canada by a war pilot.

Could be earlier going off the date on that pic.

First link shows the Holland Street address, trademark listed Feb 6, 1889. The other 2 links I posted were just to show some prior history of Epps.

Yeah, I was coming up with the same thing. I'm gonna assume then, that the other can I've got with it is the same period - it's a Fry's cocoa, but the base of the label is marked "manufacturers to the Queen and Prince of Wales" which means we're talking about Prince Albert? The earliest Fry advert I've seen is 1901 and the base of the label is marked "manufacturers to his Majesty the King".
Do you think it's a fair assumption?
And a small bottle of Ferguson's Breadalbane highland whisky, 2-3" in height
Should I post some pics?
