Been hitting the local school grounds... dating from the 1940s or so. A local fellow reports a silver dime turned up some time back. The playground, where I spend most of my time with my 5-year-old turned loose, is probably an acre or more... basketball court, jungle gym, track, the usual... was enlarged probably ca 1970s. Looks like they did a lot of grading, put in a lot of gravel, probably moved a lot of dirt around.

I've found about $5 in quarters and a lot of small change... up until now all recent, though I've started to hit some 60s coinage and I know there must be a few older ones in there. Did find a cute silver ring there last fall.

All I've got to report from today's leisure time there is a visit from the police... driving the '79 Plymouth Gran Fury Matchbox pictured below... I gave the hood a jab with my digger.

Also, the Hobart tag, which I suppose must have come from the lunchroom, might be possible to say exactly what from based on the model/serial numbers. Can't imagine how it ended up 6 inches down in the middle of the playground.

I hope to report some substantial finds from this site before I'm done with it.

Thanks for checking on my meager efforts. Keep digging!
