Got up @ 5am & on the road by 6 as 1st light was just apperaing. Temps were comfortable & warm enough for the mosquitos to still be out & HUNGRY!
Went back to ye old button house. Got the usual assortment of buttons. The gold one I found at the site where I've pulled previous coins from.
Also found the stock of what apperars to be a modern day cap & ball musket laying on top of the ground. I seriously doubt that this is origional.
After working further away, about 30' away from the hole I finally scored my 1st Matron Head LC from this site 1816, also the the 1st year for this design!
Headed home @ 11:45. Things are beginning to quiet down @ my 2nd site, where I got the gold button. Dug mostly nails & rusted iron farm equipment.
