The Big field gives a "V" Nickel
Hi gang,
After using the E-trac yesterday and finding the two old coins, I had to find something to show my M6 that it is still a good machine. So I went back to my big field and went slow--like a mole--boring. So I picked up speed but keep my coil on the grass the whole time.
I got a hit that was short and high pitched. I went over the area a couple of times, as I was not sure I should dig the signal. I decided maybe I should dig some less than perfect signals, ones I might normally pass up--like this one. I had already dug several deep holes today--only to find a nail. I started to dig and at 5" it started to sound better. I used my pinpointer-I think the button on the thing is going out AGAIN-anyway, and got chirp. I dug out a coil and decided it was another crummy Lincoln, but it seemed bigger. When I got back to the van I cleaned it with some water and saw that nice "V" on the back--hah a 1903 "V" nickel!!!!!
I guess I'll keep my M6 and hope Santa heard my plea for an E-trac. You can never have enough detectors!!!
