The Beach

You could have only dug 50% of the beer caps today because I dug the other 50%! Had just a FEW pull tabs also...If I ever catch who's pulling those things off the cans it won't be pretty! HH

Hey wasup congrats on the necklace if your getting a lot of beer tops you need a better detector, I have a basic garret 150 about 180 bucks and it discriminates most pop tops, it does pick up whole cans as coins but its a lot better than digging a million pop tops and you hit a lot fewer whole cans, you will be amazed once you get a better unit, saves your legs and knees to and most times you aint diggin for nothing, its an actual coin in most cases ,unless you have like higher qualiity metal junk around, like stainless and things like that, and it has a water proof coil you can take an old coffee can punch a buncha holes in the sides and bottom and one near the upper edge of the can tie a 4 ft piece of rope to it or longer and tie it to a belt loop and let it drag in the water you will hardly feel it because the water makes it lite? ?find your water target? and shovel the sand near the target into the can and sift it till you find your target, I found a silver ring that way last year with a 2 carrot stone of some kind, sitting right in the bottom of my sift can, they make some real expensive screen scoops but some are like 125 bucks, when i make a gold score i'll buy one with the money i get for it, always try to put what i find back into the hobby, anyway have fun cool find , tammahawk

Hear is thought from another angle: If there are tons of bottle caps or/and pull tabs, seems to me like there is quite a bit of activity around there. It's just a matter of time. Good Luck HH Art....

Thanks for the help ,I have a great machine Whites MXT I just don't have much experience.Dad got a Excal 1000 and I get to use the White. I don't want to use too much dis because I don't want to miss anything.I'm sure with time and experience I will be able know the difference but doesn't that take some of the MAGIC away.I've only been a few times so my heart starts to race on each signal I guess I had rather to believe in Santa. If you know what I mean .HHing GEORGE

Yeah, clearwater beach is pretty bad as far as bottle tops go. I know I find alot of them when I'm down there. It's funny the sign at all the entrances to the beach says that glass bottles are forbidden on the beach. If so, then where did all those caps come from :) For the most part, I usually do pretty well down there. Congrats on the necklace. WTG

I'm new too! Congrates on the necklace. A MD buddy was up detecting in that area too... Maybe one of the 5 you saw, and he's always looking for more buddys to detect with... Let me know if your interested, I'm pretty far south of you on the other side of the bay. And my great find the other day was a large ratchet on beach about 6 in down.... It made me a little home sick for NY. ;D

Hey Gab - Try going a little farther south to Treasure Island or Pass-a-Grille. I usually get lucky on those beaches. Welcome to the wonderful world of "trash collection", we all do our part for the environment (LOL).

Good luck and congrats on the necklace.
