The 5' DD on my F70

Still waiting to break into the oldies with it, got a couple wheaties with it yesterday but they were mid-series near surface in the sdiewalk tear-ups I'm working. Tried it at my highly unhunted park, but did not get time to go through all the steps yet, as I was hijacked by gawkers.

But I did get surprised by the depth on this little coil! While I only dug pulltabs, they were repeatable and clear to 7" in that dirt. Problem was they all up-averaged their numeric id's to read better than pulltabs do with the 11" DD coil. But if they're coming out at good depth liek that, I'm all good with it since when I figure out where the coinage all reads I think cherry-picking will be ion order.

I could not use the F70 with the 11" DD in the sidewalk tear up work. Constant blasting from the cinder-ash and iron-infested matrix. Yesterday put the smallie on and shazam! Running quiet and hitting targets with good separation! Oh yeah, I had it CRANKED OUT also! Made it easy to hit under the cut turf where the bigger coil cannot discern so well.

Yeah, I'm liking it! I'll still be carrying along my CZ-20 to these sidewalk tear outs though as it just seems to scream on coins better than anything else I've used. Wish they had a CZ-20 with a 6" concentric for this purpose.

Anyhow, thanks Ms. Blaze, Kellyco Chic for helping Wanda and me get our trade straight! Thanks Wanda for getting the goods to me ASAP!

Tim, that's a good little coil. Got the 5"DD for the T2 a few months ago and it's a deep little bugger. Use it my various nail pits, bottle caps fields and pull tab emporiums.

I got the 5 in 10 in and 11 in coils for the f 70 I just bought, now all I need is time to use it!

Re: The 5' DD on my F70

Thanks for the info on the 5" DD, I'm really looking at it hard for my F75. I have seen a couple of other posts where guys were not happy with the depth :dontknow:

Re: The 5' DD on my F70

Hi Tim,
I've used mine quite a bit on my F75 this year and am real happy with the depth. I've gotten a few silvers from in between loads of trash and that alone makes it worth it to me. You're right about the pulltabs though because I've dug a lot more than I have with the 11" coil, but that might be because of the trash infested areas I'm using it in.

Last Sunday I was at a super trashy picnic grove and the VDI had a hard time locking on to anything. After I dug a few targets it became clear why... there was layer after layer of pulltabs, screwcaps, wadded up foil and rusted nails down to around the 8" mark. I'd find one piece, check the hole with the probe and get another signal thinking it might be a coin, dig a little deeper and pull out a beavertail. Check it again with the probe, another signal deeper down and get a rusted bottle cap, etc...

Hey Mike,
If that was Weller, been there, dug that. It needs a 6 inch scrape across the top and man would that take you to beepin' glory holes! Same goes for Humboldt, Union, and some others thereabotus. Had a similar experience there.

Hope you got to see the SLD I got about a week or so ago in the sidewalk tearouts out this way, also got a goodly set of IH's including a 1868. A lot of these came out with my CZ but the best didn't show until I used that little DD on the F70.

Waiting on more slabs to come up now!
