Don't feel too badly, I'm still trying to find that same gold coin up here in Connectictut... :laughing7:

Everyone I know personally has found gold coins in one of two types of spots. Civil War sites or ocean beaches. The ocean beaches, actually one beach, gives up one on occasion. There was a shipwreck there.

Now why would you want to put a shark stick in your eye?:laughing7:

Very Nice!!! That's a bunch of War Nickels on the same hunt!!!! Congrats!!!

You will find one when you aren't trying and that will be the best surprise of it. Because you weren't looking. Also do all gold coins come up as low tones or mid tones? I would say you still had a good day, maybe not a gold day. Still finds worth finding.

Do you know back-of-the-boat I really don’t know what they rang up as

Nice, productive hunt with identifiable finds but isn't that a Girl Scout button?

I guess the stars just have to align to nab that gold coin- I'm 0 for 31 years, but I refuse to give up. Nice finds for all your hard work!

Pete is correct, it is a Girl Scout pin. I used to have an excellent web site saved that showed how to date them but for some reason it doesn't work any more

Nice finds truth! Dang 4 war nickels in one hunt, that's my total out of hundreds of hunts.

I no not about the Nox or other machines but on whites gold coins are mid tones ringing up upper 40s to high 50s for a $10 gold, little less for 5. Different soils could change that I suppose, don't know.

Looks like some nice finds Truth. Let the gold coin come to you, don't go looking for it. It's easier that way. We always find things when we least expect to. I agree with PetesPocket, that is a Girl Scout pin.
