That is a weird size penny!

Was going through my dirty clad from the other day and I found this weird sized penny. Ran it under some water quickly and saw a shield appear. Used Goes4ever's clean ing tip (thank you for that) and this is what I found:

Can pick out 18 and then I think another 8 for the date.

Why do you say it is a weird size penny? Is it thicker than normal or what they call a "Fattie" Indian?
 

Was thin like a dime and felt "strange" for a penny, that's what I meant. Was just a neat lead in line that's all.
 

Got it... If it is an 1888 I would try and clean it up to be able to really see that date. 1888 last 8 over 7 is a pretty valuable coin. You never know till you check it out.

Gotta luv them indians! :)

But, even if it is 8 over 7, no self respecting collector will give more than 5 bucks in clad for an environmentally damaged, cleaned, coin. ;)
