Back in Sept.,2008,i noticed an area fenced off on the property i work on.since i am the operator in charge of this plantation i decided to investigate. i took my bounty hunter out and found a 1786 Conn.copper the first day.which i posted on this web site.through the help of (yeasty) i was able to get the coin authenticated.have not found any more coins, but i found many artifacts.Thur research
and this forum i was able to id a 18th century homesite, and a cemetery with 6 graves.not only have i found out the owners of the house, but the names of the persons buried in the cemetery.this turns out to be of very important historical value to the town.i contacted the proper authorties, and i am giving my finds to the town. East Carolina University is going to do a dig this summer.
just goes to show we can make a difference.
