I agree it is nice entering a thread knowing if it is solved to the Ops content or not. Good work.

Here is another helpful example that anyone is free to use:

"The playgrounds of America have given up amazing finds of gold and silver over the years, and they seem to be constantly replenished.

I have seen gold coins found in playgrounds, and also silver dollars, not to mention the gold and silver jewelry, ipods, and plentiful spare change to be had.

Playgrounds are a treasure banquet patiently awaiting the hungry seeker.

PLAYGROUNDS ARE THE BEST PLACES TO USE YOUR METAL DETECTOR!!!!"
Ill keep this in my notes.

I agree. The man has been tireless in his pursuit of truth, logic, and proper identification. His work in keeping people educated about finalizing the thread, and keeping identified finds categorized separately from unidentified finds is very valuable to the forum.

The cut and paste makes it easy to educate people that might be new to the hobby, and new to the forum.

Yes, I whole heartedly agree! I will soon have found enough bling from tot-lots for my custom made 18k "Call of Duty 5" cappin' ring. :laughing7:

Thanks again Jim and everyone else.

I thought it was a good thing to know which posts were solved or not. I sometimes look back over the old threads. Many are solved but do not have the green check. So I am trying to tell the newbies and remind the others. Nobody told me to stop, so I kept doing it.

I only had one complaint from a member. He wanted to know who I thought I was to put a green check on his thread. He asked if I thought I was a moderator LOL. I explained to him that I was only suggesting it and that it was his decision alone to mark it solved or not. He later apologized.

Other than that, nobody else complained and it seems that everyone else is in agreement that this is a good thing. :icon_thumright:

BTW any help will be appreciated. :D

Absolutely! I go back through un-checked finds on occasion to see if I can offer any more information than is already posted there.

The green check mark lessens my task. :)

I have another statement that you can cut and past, if desired:

There are NO Civil War buckles or plates to be found in and around the Louisville Kentucky area. Your best bet is to hunt the yards of 1940s houses. :D

Calls for the big Green Check,
And a "Thank You" for him giving it a try!

Most of what I know, I learned here at TN, especially from reading PBK's posts.

Everybody knows something.
Nobody knows much.
We're all in this together.

In my short time of frequenting the "What Is It" forum, I have learned much stuff from you, Montana Jim, PBK, and others as well. It feels good to work together as a team, all of us with different opinions and ideas, to solve the seemingly impossible.

BTW, you must be an insomniac like me. :tongue3:
