I am a newbie to this hobby but think I am hooked. I have my first metal detector and have found nothing but junk so far. Still it is exciting evertime I think I have found something and all of the thoughts and dreams of what it will be. I live in the Texas panhandle not far from the Canadian River. There is an abundance of history here with Indian dwellings not far from my home. Also the Fort Smith- Santa Fe trail is very close. My question is does anyone know of any areas to search in the Texas Panhandle. Also how would I go about searching the Santa Fe trail? I have obtained aerial photos and with the use of the historical markers in the area I think I know where the trail is. Any help and guidance would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
