Hey Everyone,

Vp here, I found this a little while back and just remembered I had it. At the time I thought it was a dog tag or somethign but after cleaning it up, it appears to be a medal (or tag) of some sort.

Not sure what it is made of, about 2 inches long and definately has the words "Texas" on it.

Any help is appreciated

Looks like a shield-style Texas watch fob, c. 1910's. Somebody added the hole after the bail broke off. There was a series of state seal fobs made in this shape.

Most had "Warranted 14Kt Gold Plated on Genuine Bronze" on the back. However, it looks as if this one has had something hand-stamped on it— maybe personal ID info. I've seen other fobs stamped this way as ID tags or souvenirs of Mexican Border Service around 1916.
