Found this in some woods across from the 'Hill'. Parked my truck along the freeway. Detected about an hour and I got this feeling that I shouldn't leave my truck alone any longer. Tyler and I crested the hill and a wrecker truck was there. I spoke with the operator for a moment and I was on my way.

This buckle is silver plated I believe. If it were chrome plated the chipping would be much worse than it is since chrome is not very flexible. The base metal is copper. The back has, in an elipse, 'Hook Fast Co'. Next to it is West 27th St New York City. I thought it was a cool find since I live in Texas.

Laater...

Good thing you listened to your gut instinct and went back to your truck when you did!!! I might have been a long walk to the storage yard. LOL Nice buckle. It's always great to find something that represents the home state, IMO. WTG.

Nice find for the collection!

Yes! I told my son that we should probably go. I began to feel uncomfortable. I was parked on the side of the I-610 loop and hunting down a hill out of sight of my truck. Very busy, but, we were off the shoulder and mostly in the grass.

The mayor has instituted a "safe clear" program. When the traffic cameras or a wrecker driver see a vehicle stopped on the shoulder they are to be towed if the vehicle will be there longer than is necessary to a change a tire or get emergency gas or is unoccupied. It's a pretty tricky law and one that is somewhat favored and somewhat hated.

nice find congrats

A Reputation Built on Integrity and Reliability!

In 1926 Manuel Gorriaran founded Hook-Fast Specialties, Inc. by introducing what was then a newly invented style of belt buckle called the "Hook-Fast Can't Slip Buckle". Each buckle was decorated with emblems illustrating people's hobby, trade, work or other affiliation.

Before long, customers began to request other items. Hook-Fast responded and expanded the business to include badges, tie clasps, name plates, money clips, and key chains. Today, Hook-Fast manufactures a broad spectrum of recognition and identification products in our headquarters in Providence, Rhode Island. Our network of distributors enables these products to be sold in markets across the globe.

We, at Hook-Fast are favored by those who recognize the benefits of dealing with a company with professional integrity and a strong record of reliability. Repeat business is our mainstay and we are proud of our record of customer service. Hook-Fast made being a customer easy and the customers have made Hook-Fast a success!

There is no substitute for experience
