Silver is always a good thing, congrats!

I have an Eagle II SL and its a fantastic detector.
Top-of-the-Line in its day (1989-90).
You got a great deal, and could easily turn a profit on eBay, but I'd advise you to hold on to this unit.
Eagles are getting hard to find.

Congrats on the Silver Quarter find and getting such a great deal on an old but awesome Metal Detector! I love the old White's Metal Detectors as they are known for their' sweet tones that just aren't the same with current metal detectors. Also, the old White's metal detectors are tops in MD's in my opinion for finding voids in the ground and/or caves.

Hi,I bought a whites eagle sl 90 last December and as you say what a machine, first day out I found a gents10k white gold ring, found over 50 coins on the beach that I've searched with a minelab 705.image.jpg

In two years, I have not found a single silver quarter. What's interesting is, back in the late 80's. I used my Grandfathers Garrett Groundhog and found a 1945 Quarter. Maybe I need to pull it out of retirement and take it for a spin.
