Jeff, You're in a good area. Or at least that Inspection Station is. So much by me has been developed.
A lot, especially around the hill to the north, is unchanged.
I'd love to visit Capt. Evitts farm and see what momentos of his that his kids lost in the yard...

Though The House is Listed as 1883 & The Map is 1875
& The Capt. is much Older, I Can see many Reasons The Tax Site is off.

They list allot of Houses from the 1800's as 1900 & Even newer when Restored Later

Yes, The county has the same pic for the adjoining property, but it doesn't matter.
It's the fields around it that are undisturbed!
I just enjoyed the puzzle of finding the location of that arial photo you posted.

I had personal business a few weeks ago that brought me from NY to outside Mechanicstown with a half day to spare. Chasing down the map dots and door knocking was easy, as much is undeveloped. Finding someone home on a saturday morning was difficult. Odd. Six pre 1850 homesteads later I got permission, but struck out on the good stuff ( unless you like an iron pot handle, thick clay, and Chucky Cheese tokens). The house had too much new soil around it. Undergound work, old inground pool, etc.

I'm back down there this coming weekend with some time to spare, and I'm going to revisit.

Yes the Other Adjoining Property Has a Different Tax ID # then on the photo, so I think that one is in Error.
eventually I'll do a Drive By (Most of my Hunts, I drive by Rt. 25 & Crossroads Roads which is within a Mile or so of the General area at some point.
& It's also the Farmers Market & Only out of My way due to this Turning into the Rain Forrest Lately. No idea When Low 40's, Rain & Canadian Winds will End & Sun Reappears, according to the weather, We're Working on the 3rd. Inch of Rain
Since Yesterday alone :(
