The areas above the Legion were not burned. The areas about 300/400 yards south of there burned over the road (89). No scarring up at the Post. Here is some video. Tim took at about 4PM on the Sunday a week ago. JUST before we had to boogie. This is the area approaching Peeples Valley. You can see the storm come in from the North and the flames turn to go back to Yarnell. Raw footage in its entirety because I am not good with this new program. I have about 30 minutes of this blaze, DC10 dropping that red stuff (treasurenet wont allow any form of "ret----"), Helo dropping water and others. I also have the ride coming back up the hill into Yarnell but channel 15 has it... till they mail it back. TTC

Here is a DC 10 pilot dipping down to drop "that red stuff". The pilot comes in below the ridgeline, risking his life for people he may not even know. A true professional.... a hero. TTC

Did it open up any off the old workings??

Most of the areas burned are private ranches and home acreage. The BLM areas burned are so remote and rugged that the young guys won't go in there! TTC

Terry, unbelievable footage! Those firefighters and pilots are ANGELS! I just spoke to your Brother in the hospital. I sure hope I get a chance to get out there and see you both soon. God Bless and Keep you both! - T

A memorial has been set up out in the field. They have (will) set a flagpole with flag where the fire fighters died. It can be seen from a viewing area that has been set up (permanently) on Hays Ranch Rd., just north of the Mountainair gas station on 89. TTC

Here, Terry, is one more video... the last I will post. All of these videos are Tim's. This one shows a helo ( UH-1E, Huey ? ) dropping water. NOTE: the two earlier videos show the smoke and winds northbound, heading into Peeples Valley. THIS one shows the winds had changed direction, because of the storm coming down from Prescott, now heading southbound back to Yarnell, trapping the firefighters. TTC

Terry, what happened to your brother? Amazing pictures Tim took....................63bkpkr

Tim has a severe rash that encircles his left calf. Probably a spider bight. The VA seems to think it serious enough for CLOSE monitoring so they checked him in for at least 3 days. Not to worry.... a few "days off" for him amongst pretty nurses! TTC

Hey take care guys. I am lucking out so far here in Summit County but all around us the fire danger is high.

Naw secretcanyon, the influx of tourists has kept me busy, like 12 and 14 hour days. The only grocery store in Breck, and hey we did over a million in sales last week. Since I am one of the two guys that does the ordering for dry grocery I'm proud to say I'm responsible for that. Not too much smoke now due to the recent rains. Last year I never got a blue sky pic all summer long due to wildfires.

Hey,
Thanks for the call TerryS. I'm back at home. The rash turned out to be an under-the-skin, severe infection, ouch! Holding off a couple more days before going to the hospital could have been life threatening. Thanks, also, to everyone else for their concern. TimC

Glad you are back "on the street" Tim! Stay cool!!
