Hi there and welcome to T-net ,.. I beleive what you have there is Fulgurite , a product of lighting striking sand and melting/ fusing the sand . Don't believe tektites ever have bubles in them ,. also tektites are formed from enormous [dinosaur killing type] meteors . Also possable I believe for smaller meteorites to melt/ fuse sand ,..so ??

Hope this helps ,... Blindpig

Do an image search for "moldavite", see if that green stone looks anything like what you have.

Thank you both for your replies .

Blind Pig, I did an image search for fulgurite, and some of them kind of look like what I have, but the shapes are very different. Also I noticed the fulgurites have pieces of earthly minerals stuck to them. What I have does not have that. I do know that tektites do have bubbles in them as well, but they rarely ever have earthly minerals stuck to them. So now I am even more confused. Also, I live in Egypt where rain and storms are very minimal. I am not ruling out the fulgurite just yet though. I will go back tomorrow and see if I can find any bigger pieces of it. Maybe the shape will hint me in the right direction. I do wonder what it is that keeps falling from the sky in that area though? I'm thinking of bringing a magnet with me to see if I can find an actual meteorite. Thanks for the warm welcome. I will let you know if I find anything out there.

PtC- Thanks for the reply. I did an image search for moldavite when I first noticed the green color. Unfortunately, it looks nothing like the photos of moldavite. I do wish I could find some though, bc they are beautiful! I typed in the characteristics of the specimen and tektite came up.

Hoping I could get some more opinions from other users?

It looks like a Tektite. I'm not aware of any from Egypt or that part of the world. They are found in Chzekoslovakia(moldavites). Also they are found in Vietnam, China, the Phillipines and Austrailia. In the U.S. they have been found in Texas and Georgia.

What do you mean -"keeps falling from the sky"? Are you witnessing something?
Need a better pic- but it could be either. Both are terrestrial materials. Both can have bubbles. Impact & lightening "glass" have many similarities.

Gtzer- Yes I see meteorites falling in this area all of the time! Or "falling/shooting stars". I've seen right where they fall. I don't think these are tektites though. I think they are from lightening, bc I went out there today and found huge chunks of this stuff in the shapes of fulgurite, with minerals attached to the glass. I am still wondering what could be falling from space. I find all kinds of crazy weird stones in this area.

Jewel,
There is a lot of meteoritic, fulgerite,desertglass/tektite material in your area and the surrounding deserts. So much so-that the market became flooded and the value of all of those are greatly reduced. Now lightning and meteorites falling look totally different. Look it up online-there are many videos of meteorites falling.
Now- as opposed to what i stated above- a witnessed fall-with fresh material and maybe a pic of the impact site carries a huge premium over other materials. Keep that in mind.
If you see a meteor fall-photo the site, pick up the material with an inside out bag and note any details of what you witness. There are many sources that would pay well for such collected material. I could even help you if you were not able to find these sources.
That type of collecting and observation could possibly yield: $, specimens for yourself too and even help science.
I worked with meteorites & tektites from 1985-1996.

Well the problem with that is, I don't live near the desert. I live near the sea. The meteors fall on the beach. It's definitely not lightening I am seeing. Almost every time I have been to the beach at night, I have seen a shooting star. They always fall around the same area! The tide comes in before I could inspect it the next day. So what I am finding is these things washed up on shore. Do tektites come in large chunks? I have found some gems that closely resemble the desert glass out here, but they could be some sort of gemstone. Tons of little crystals that are not quartz, Idk what they are. This place is like an undiscovered gem mine. This stuff has been driving me crazy ever since I found it 4 years ago. The locals think I am crazy for collecting and they totally disregard these things. So it may be possible that I have discovered something . I just keep on collecting. Thank you for your help. I should be coming back to the U.S. within a year and plan on bringing a lot of it back home with me, bc people have limited knowledge about stuff like this where I currently live and I am scared to really ask anyone bc if the oppressive gov. finds out about it, they might close off the site and take every thing from me, including the credit of discovering something. I've been real low key and if anyone asks, I tell them I am picking up stones to put in my fish aquarium or I act like I don't understand what they are saying (I do speak Arabic).

How could I get a hold of you if I need you?

If they are tektites though, there are hundreds of these things lying around out there.

I'd give you my e-mail if you PM me.
When I say a lot of the material I mentioned (previously) was found- I mean hundreds of thousands of tons!
I saw your post from today. Desert glass (tektite/impact glass) is many colors. Yellow & clear included. Generally made up of terrestrial material--shouldn't be harder than quartz. Look forward to hearing your results.
And DO look up some of the videos I mentioned. You will know immediately the difference between seeing a "shooting star" and a meteor falling to earth.
Also-if you MDetect-- the sands of the desert carry, cover and uncover- everything including coins, artifacts minerals etc.
