This Omega 8000 Version 6 is in perfect working order with only a few very minor scratches from normal use. The latest software versions 5 and 6 run a lot quieter and smoother than the earlier versions. They also handle EMI better as well. Version 4 is super chatty and nosey around EMI so Teknetics corrected this problem by updating the software. There are still new old inventory version 4's being sold, so make sure that you know the version number before purchasing.
This is a deep detector that loves silver coins and is super easy to operate. Also, it's lightweight and well balanced, making it a breeze to swing all day long. It comes with a round 8-inch concentric search coil. It's slightly deeper than the 10-inch elliptical concentric search and it discriminates a lot better than the 11-inch DD search coil does, especially when it comes to pry-caps.
To check the version number, while powered off, hold and continue to hold the pinpoint button in while powering on the detector. The version number will appear briefly on the screen.
