Teknetics Mark 1 acting up

I have a Mark 1 that is having some issues , The batteries are kinda old but still show as good on the meter but when i move the sensitivity just before 3/4 of the way it starts acting up . I did do some mods but nothing to the electronics and it already had this issue .. Its not getting the same depth as my other Mark 1 and its not as smooth ..

Any advise?

If I remember right it seems like I had similar problems with my old Teknetics Eagle. I believe it turned out to be weak or broken battery tabs, a common part to break on the old Teknetics models.
