The city is slowing chewing away at a street tear out. I went tonight to hunt the daily progress. It started out slow but eventually I dug a Merc :icon_thumright: As I was walking out, I went over an old spot where they had again stirred the dirt. Got a nice nice signal and dug a 1937 Canadian dime, which is a first for me :icon_thumright::icon_thumright:

Somewhere along the line I dug what I thought was a clothing rivet. Got home and cleaned it up to discover it was actually an anchor button. The back is pretty crusty. Any help with an ID would be nice.

Great finds! I’ve dug George pennies before but never a silver dime. Good job on that recovery! Street and sidewalk tear-outs can produce terrific older finds. The dilemma always seems to be how to obtain permission.

Permission for a city tear-out? NEVER! :headbang:

However, by digging this tear-out, I have identified a parcel that is very tempting to knock-knock. Its where i found the canadian dime tonight and previously dug meny-a-canning-lid.

Looks like some nice finds Squirrel. I wish they would do some sidewalk tear outs in my area. I think they are all caught up for a while.
