Found cool little pin that appears to be silver at a thrift store while driving around looking for garage sales this morning. Payed $5, pretty cool I think. Here is a pic. Im posting from my phone hope this works.

That is a Gerardo Lopez Signature. He's a very well known master Silvermith and had a shop in the late 40's -50's. Some of his pieces have evn been on the Antiques Roadshow. It's a nice vintage piece of silver enamelware. His enameled pieces are scarce and sought after, it will demand a premium price. The 980 is a very high purity mark versus the standard 925 or even 950. Sweet find.

Very cool, thanks for the confirmation, I found some info on the piece, but saw there was two Lopez artists and wasn't sure which one it was. I couldn't find any other of his works either, at least none that were enameled, thanks for the link.

I was wondering. Is there a site to research Taxco and mexican silver marks out there?

I can't seem to find many. Just a lot of little bits and pieces, here and there. Will post if I find anything.
