tax token ?

Found this in Asheville NC. It appears to be alum. About the size of a quarter with a triangle hole in the center. It says Luxury tax Louisiana and has a one on each side. Can anyone tell me how old this is? Sorry no pic yet.

I have found cashes of ten or more at a time while coin hunting around old buildings. They are quite plentyful here in Louisiana and have no real cash worth, just an unusual token. Most of the states made them in the time period stated.
