Looming ominously like a space ship from Star Wars, this is the future of unmanned flight. Defence firm BAE Systems today officially unveiled its first ever high-tech unmanned stealth jet. The Taranis, named after the Celtic god of thunder, is about the same size as a Hawk jet and is equipped with stealth equipment and an 'autonomous' artificial intelligence system. The plane will test the possibility of developing the first ever autonomous stealthy Unmanned Combat Air Vehicle (UCAV) that would ultimately be capable of precisely striking targets at long range, even in another continent.

Reminds me of Dale Brown novels.

I wonder where they ever got the idea for the design of that thing :icon_scratch: I've never seen anything shaped like that being able to fly. :laughing7:

It wouldn't fly without computers. They are purposefully made somewhat instable to augment maneuverability. A person could not make the necessary inputs fast enough.

It's definately gonna get the UFO sightings listings up..if anyone actually sees it!

In my occasional obliviousness to the obvious I now see what you're saying Spart. I'm sure it's shaped more like a plane than a UFO. A plane needs a front and back of course, a saucer alledgedly does not as ant-gravitic or magnetic propulsion can be pointed in any direction. This is why they can pull right-angle turns at thousands of miles per hour. The force pulls the ship in the new direction as well as the occupant's bodies. Otherwise they'd be a red (or maybe green) mist.

You're forgiven, but you should know me a little better by now. I'm not 100% certain that isn't the complete shape of a UFO either. It seems they've been tinkering with that shape for a long time now, including the use of electromagnetism. Since we can't handle the truth, we'll see it wide spread once it becomes obsolete and they're on to a new project. Hitler was even developing a flying bell shaped object during WWII.

I figure it was from somewhere far, far away. :alien:
