Went out to my favorite fairground today and noticed all these little flags in the ground. Attached was a note that read "I found these silvers but haven't dug them yet so they will count toward my 2012 totals. Please do not dig them."

All joking aside I am hoping to be more active this coming year and participate more on this board. Its been great reading and quite an inspiration.

If the person didn't dig them up this year.. That's his lose
I'd swing my coil over them and dig them up....
That is the most ridiculous thing I've heard of....
Maybe I'll go across the street at the park and do the same...
and then be laughed at....

Now that would be good if it was that easy! Happy New Year!

I hunt this spot several times a week and have not seen any flags. However, it they are there I have a real good idea who put them there. And it is someone who takes their silver count seriously... I can tell you this much, this site has been pounded to death over the years and the silver is few and far between. When I go there it's for the challenge of finding a silver coin that has eluded everyone. There is still some there...

Happy hunting and Happy New Year.

Those flagrant flags aside, I am looking forward to seeing your posts/ totals for 2012 hope you have a good year at it.

I never did thank you for the Etrac review you sent me. I really appreciated it and apologize for taking this long to respond. Hopefully we both can have a record silver count this year. I am envious of all your Barber Quarters. Those darn things keep eluding me. I got my first one ever this past fall but it was worn so flat all I could see was a wing outline on the reverse side and the top of Liberty's head on the obverse(must have been lost in 1964). No date at all so I don't consider it a true BBQ. On the other hand I am glad I don't have your weather. Its bad enough down here right now but I am looking at 49 degrees tomorrow for my day off so I am hoping to make a day of it.

Dig them signals up bud hahahaha

Hey if its a BBQ then its a BBQ no matter how worn it is!!! Mine, I found a 1900 BBQ (at the time my oldest barber Q) right on the on the edge of the des plains river and it was worn almost smooth and could barely make out the date, I figure it was somebody's lucky fishin' coin and they must of rubbed it everytime the went fishing and im super glad they lost it & im glad to have it!!! :icon_pirat: :icon_pirat: :icon_pirat:

Looks like you shouldn't have any problems digging a record amount of silver with your E-Trac. COngratulations on your recent finds, and here's to many more :occasion14:

Unfortunately the Etrac is out of my league. Still making do with my F70, now in my fourth year with it. I was able to scrounge enough this past month to pick up a CZ-21 in an attempt to compete with you guys out in the water. I am just stunned by how successful everyone is.
