Out working a new farmers field that is no longer used. Came across a new dump site and after finding shards, working down a foot and a half, for 3

hours came across these two.

Will my last two bottle finds of the day turn out to be good or broken?

Take a guess, will post on Sun. what the answer is.

1st photo is of shards and other finds; second photo is of both bottles waiting to be dug.

all have a good un.............

I am afraid I will guess broken on the big one, since it will collect water from its position, neck up, but then again you could be digging in a area where it doesn't freeze like it does up here in NJ. The only bottles I seem to be able to dig whole are "neck down" otherwise rainwater collects and winter's freeze cracks them for sure. Saw some nice battery cores in the picture, so I would guess the site dates from around the 1920's to 1930's since that was when many home radio's were powered by dry cell carbon core batteries. Looks like a lot of interesting stuff there. Wish you the best on the bottles, I know I hate seeing them broken myself.

Little,

are you talking about the long rods, on the left, of the short ones in photo with core attached?

I wondered for some time while I was finding the small rods what they were, until I dug a pit that had the whole set up.

see photo.

Nana,

remember that Disney movie with Tinkerbell, years and years ago? "Peter Pan" If you clapped I think she would be alive.

Clap, Clap, Clap, Clap. And everything will be o.k.

I was almost ready to call it a day when I came across these two. I had taken many metal artifacts out of the hole

but only glass shards, and good thick glass with different company names on them. Theses two would put a good

cap on the day. I actually took a brake, filled my pipe and had a smoke and just looked at these two sitting in the

hole.

The large one was "EDWARD W. WOLD//EWW//LEMONT. ILL" on it.

The small one was "WAKEFIELD'S//BLACK BERRY//BALSAM COMPOUND" on it.

When I dug them they were

both broken. Big one on the base, small one on the lip.

I will be going back since I still have some good digging to do at this location, something will show up.

all have a good un............
