I dug this from a old city square that had activity during the Civil War. I am not implying this is a CW relic, but I am not sure, and would like to know if anyone could I.D. it.
It seems to be made of copper and is not magnetic. I placed a quarter next to it for size comparison.
The number "3" looks hand punched with a pointed object and is bumped out on the reverse side.
The top looks as if it is broke off and that at one time a strap or ribbon had passed though it.
