✅ SOLVED tack with 24 on it ?

tack with 24 on it ?solved

I found a small ( what looked like a button ) button last year in a ball field in the next town over .Nothing on the back but a small bump . Today I found the same button in my town only it is not a button . It has what looks like a tack / point on the back . Not sure what they are made of and they are just smaller than a dime .

They date railroad ties with a nail with a # on it ....i think that`s one .

That might be what you have

I have RR date nails and they are much larger than these little things . They are just smaller ? Really thin , I would think they would brake trying to pound them in to a tie .

Don't know what happened to the shanks but those are definitely date nail heads. Make someone was doing a project.?
