Tabdog's Back With Tha Magic Touch

Hi Folks,

I have been sick sense May and not able to metal detect much
at all.

I have been feeling better, so I went down to McArthur Park. It
may be the most "hunted out" park in Arkansas.

It was an arsenal sense 1837, and was donated and turned into
a city park in 1893,

I hunted there for about 1 and 1/2 hours, digging mostly iron
junk,

If I was not digging iron, I would have never found these two
58 caliber musket balls and this 31 caliber pistol bullet,

I even found a wheaty, but I can't read the date.

I also found this lead whatzit,

The last time I hunted there, I found a gold pendant.
The time before that, I found a Civil War cannon friction
primer and an antique brass medicine vile holder. The
time before that I found a gold ring with small diamonds.

Don't you just hate those "HUNTED OUT" parks???

Re: Tabdog's Back With Tha Magic Touch

Nice finds! I just hunted there from Jan 18 - Feb 20 2010 when I attended the Veterans affairs police academy. I found a gold civil war pin with a sailor on it, two very old silver harts, two Indian head pennies from the 1800s (from behind the round house building), and also some old silver from the academy grounds. It was nice to see the old park again, thanks.

Re: Tabdog's Back With Tha Magic Touch

when they didn't have time to load the musketballs they would charter in a great pitcher and he would throw the lead whatzit pieces at other soldiers lol :icon_thumleft: have no idea what it is, but good job anyway
