T&CO- Necklace- Fake or Real?

Bought a sterling necklace today for $35. It is a Tiffany Large Starfish on an 18 inch chain all sterling silver. The starfish weighs around 9 grams and the chain another 2 grams approx. The lobster clasp is making me think it might be a fake chain or replacment chain. The chain is marked 925 and Tiffany&Co. The starfish is marked on the back. See pics. No box or dust bag with this one.

I went to T&CO and it is a fake. I reached out to the seller and I am not holding my breathe.

What did Tiffany and Co. Say ? Did they give any information on what makes it fake ?

They pulled out the real deal and showed me the starfish is too big, the back and hallmarks are all different. And the chain only comes in 16 inch. It took them 2 minutes to tell. I also had another person there look at it. Same thing. I should have gone to T&CO to look at the real thing first then went to buy it. HH

Good luck on the return, since it sounds like you bought it locally off CL or something, your gonna need it. Chalk it up as a learning experience. In the future you'll know better. Designer goods are counterfeited daily in mass. Caveat Emptor!
