symbols?

I need some input on a recent fireplace that I examined. It is part of an old cabin in southeastern Ohio. In the brick is engraved the name John james 1852; below the name a symbol of a turkey is engraved. It is a two sided fireplace on the other side there are numbers engraved. Does anyone have any thoughts on this.

Randy, Maybe you should provide the actual numbers, as this might help in deciphering the mystery. Also, are they very distinct or somewhat 'hidden'? John James can probably be traced, but one would need at least the county or township that he lived in to begin looking.

Perhaps John James was a brick maker and the turkey was his logo?
